How can one go between central London and Heathrow Airport?

One of the fatest ways to travel between Heathrow Airport and downtown London is by taking the Heathrow Express train. It runs every 15 minutes and takes you from the airport to Paddington Station in under 15 minutes. The trains have well-sized luggage storage areas. Standard fare for adults costs under £17. If you do not mind taking longer to arrive at Paddington, you can take the local trains which run every 30 minutes and take about 30 minutes to complete the trip. Doing so can bring your fare down to just under £7.

A budget-conscious way to travel between London and Heathrow is by taking the Underground. The Picacadilly Line offers three stops at Heathrow (one serving Terminals 1, 2 and 3 and one each at Terminal 4 and Terminal 5). Although the trip time is almost an hour, the cost is only £4. If you purchase a Travelcard, you can also travel on buses and some trains and tram lines.

Another economical option is National Express' Hotel Hoppa service which takes you to a select list of London area hotels for £4. If you are not staying at one of the hotels and would like door-to-door service, you can use the National Express Dot2Dot service. It costs £22 one way or £35 for a return trip; group discounts are available. The coach stops at no more than 3 other locations before reaching your destination.

If money is not an issue, there are always limousine and taxi services. Taxi services may charge £45 to £70 and up depending on your destination. Travel time by car is about an hour.
