How does one get to downtown Paris from Orly airport?

Buses are the most cost-effective form of transportation from Orly to central Paris and there are a few options. The OrlyBus, operated by RATP under the Paris transit authority, can take you to Denfert - Rochereau Station in Paris where you can then transfer to your final destination. The trip takes about 30 minutes and costs €6.3. You can catch the bus at Orly South, Gate H or Orly West, Gate G. Air France operates an express shuttle which stops at major train stations in Paris, including Gare Montparnasse and Gare des Invalides. The shuttle runs every 15 minutes, takes about 35 minutes and costs €10. You can catch the shuttle at Orly South, Gate L or Orly West, Gate H. Depending on your destination, several city buses (routes 183, 285 and 292) also stop at the airport.

Orly offers door-to-door shared shuttle services, which are a good option if your destination is not near to or easily transferable from the bus drop-off points noted above and you wish to avoid the high cost of taxi. Prices per passenger start at €24, with additional individual and group discounts available. Advance reservations are generally required. Shuttles pick up at Orly South, Exit M and Orly West, Exit H.

Taxis may be a reasonable option if you have multiple people in your party or are carrying large bags. Costs start at €35 and can easily run up depending on traffic conditions, time of day and your final destination. Taxi stands are located at Orly South, Exit M and Orly West, Arrivals Level, Exit I.
