What is a type K electrical socket and plug? Type
"J" electrical sockets are found almost exclusively in Denmark and Greenland. They are distinct in that
the hole for the grounding prong is in the shape of an extended semicircle.
Plugs consist of two elongated, round
prongs of equal length and the distinctively shaped grounding prong. Because of the spacing and size of the
ungrounded portion of the outlet, type "K" sockets fit ungrounded type
"C" plugs, generally referred to as Europlugs.
