What is a U.S. Passport Card?A US Passport Card facilitates travel by land and sea between the United States,
Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean (with certain exceptions) and Bermuda. It's a cheaper option than a passport and
has a smaller size but is intended only for non-air travel between a
limited list of countries. Applications are available at most post offices, with an initial application fee of $45 for adults and $35 for children. Renewals for adults cost $20. This compares well with the cost of initial passport
application fees for adults, $100, and children, $80, as well as the adult renewal fee of $75. The valid periods of use are the same as those for passports at ten years for
adults and five years for children.
