What is United Airlines' American and Canadian checked baggage policy?

In June 2008, United Airlines updated its checked baggage policy for the US and Canada.  As of August 18, 2008, if you are flying United on Economy or Economy Reward tickets within the U.S. or Canada, your first checked bag will be assessed a $15 fee.  A second checked bag will continue to incur the $25 fee previously in effect.  Fee waivers may apply if you hold elite status.  For the most current updates, please check with United at http://www.united.com/page/article/0,6722,52481,00.html.
