Where is Euro officially accepted?
Sixteen members of the European Union has adopted the Euro as their official currency. The countries are collectively known as the Eurozone. They consist of Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Spain. Please note that some but not all foreign territories of these countries also use the Euro as their currency.
Outside of the European Union, five other states/territories have formally adopted the Euro as their official currency. They are Mayotte, Monaco, San Marino, Saint Pierre and Miguelon and Vatican City.
